请问阶梯断层过程中错误提示的处理方式

进行部分阶梯模型的时候共有两次报错：
1.VBM models are not supported by stairstep faulting process.
2.there are no grid columns unaffected by faults from which to sample layering information.Extend structural framework outside faulted area or refine grid resolution.
请教一下，1.中只有VBM不能处理阶梯化么？2.中我要处理的阶梯化只有一个Y字形断层，在边界上，怎么解决这个问题呢

根据帮助文档：
VBM limitations

The volume based modeling technique has some limitations and known issues:

Volume based modeling (VBM) requires the fault extension to be consistent with displacement (throw).
VBM also requires that geological interfaces such as conformable, base, and erosional must be accurately identified prior to the construction of the model.
The amount of CPU time and memory required to build the model increases with the selected level of complexity.
A model built with the Complexity option set to Huge requires approximately 10 times more CPU time and memory than a model built using the Normal complexity setting.
After constant use of a 3D window, it may not be possible to display error points in that window.
In the Horizon modeling dialog, the Dense well top regularization option may be required to prevent artifacts, bubbles, or spikes.
The Stair-step faulting process is disabled.
Well tops are not fully honored in the unrefined model.
Although it is possible to specify the location where a modeled horizon is expected to cross a well by using well tops, constraining horizon geometries by zone logs is not supported.
In models containing a large number of wells, modeling can take longer when the Well adjustment option is selected.
During pillar gridding, eroded surfaces may not be extrapolated beyond the erosion line.
The Baselap-Baselap relationship can give unexpected results.
Identical runs may generate slightly different volume results (less than 1% difference, except for large extrapolations).
In the Horizon modeling dialog, the Enforce non-zero layer thickness option may not work near horizon borders (VOI, faults).
The Refine and create zone model option could be very slow and memory consuming.
• When working with many faults, user interface response time may be slow.

Note: The stair-step process requires grid columns outside the faulted area from which to sample layering information. Failure to do this will raise the following error:

"There are no grid columns unaffected by faults from which to sample layering information. Extend structural framework outside faulted area or refine grid resolution"

In this case extend the structural framework to cover a region outside a faulted area. Alternatively, depending on the structural framework, increasing the grid resolution can provide columns outside the faulted area.

文档中针对第二个问题的partly stair stepped有这么个提示，但不太理解什么意思，它是建议什么操作呢？increasing the grid resolution或者extend the structural framework如何实现？谢谢。

抱歉，仅仅看文字无法判断问题所在，只能徒增大家的讨论。这个问题就到这里罢，如果有其它信息补充或者可以继续捉摸捉摸。

不要过于纠结在软件提示。软件的大多数错误提示本质上都在说“我已经处理不了你的问题，你想想办法按我的思维习惯简化一下你的问题”。

最好能请josegh教个部分阶梯断层能应用到实际项目的做法，这方面资料少啊

mrsurvivor 所问的VBM方式现在可能成形的工作流程更少，SLB自己是不是能跑下来也很让人怀疑，我在LinkedIn看到不止一个客户在抱怨这个部分的不成熟了。VBM虽然不是新生事物——对SKUA（Paradigm）或者JewelSuite（BakerHughes）来说——但是对Petrel这个平台来说仍然是个挑战。看它目前的运行方式，现在仍然是调用一个外部命令来执行（Petrel_blenny_server.bat），应是利用的第三方算法，并未很好揉进Petrel内部。
