In a Project aimed for planning development plan for these fields, a high resolution
3D static model comprising of matrix and fracture model was developed for these
reservoirs for a Kuwait based client. The developed matrix and the fracture models
provided the basis for the in-place hydrocarbon estimation. In-place number wise this
Jurassic complex qualifies for giant field as per AAPG giant field definition. The
developed static model was upscaled for dynamic flow simulation studies by the
reservoir engineers to make the first field development plan for this complex with
huge investment by the client in coming few years.
In this write-up the methodology adopted for developing the 3D fracture model has
been explained in detail
