Development Geologist
Candidate Specification:
The successful candidates should have the following experience or academic background:
1,University degree or equivalent education in geologist/experience in major or independent oil & gas co. or major oilfield service co.
a.BS-7+ years working experience
b.MSc-5+years working experience
2,Good at spoken and written English, strong communication skill and overseas working experience is highly preferred;
3,Good at development of the geological framework and reservoir models leading to reservoir simulation and field development planning
4,Strong technical background in an operator environment and experience in development/production geology, including static reservoir modeling, reservoir characterization, well planning and execution skills;
5,Extensive experience in reservoir characterization utilizing sequence stratigraphy, structural framework analysis and production data integration;
6,Demonstrated ability in commercial software, such as Petrel, Discovery, OpenWorks, IESX, Petrosys ;
7,Practical experience in Uncertainty Analysis, Geostatistics and Value of information assessment;
8,Theoretical understanding of uncertainty and risk management;
9,Understand the likely geometry, lateral continuity and reservoir quality of sandbodies in the reservoir;
10,Understanding the techniques and workflows used to build models, and how the results are used by reservoir engineers ;
Job Description:
We are seeking a senior Development Geologist with 5-10 working experience to contribute to field development planning and reservoir management. The individual should be proficient at:
1,Planning and evaluation of appraisal and development wells
2,Determining development well locations
3,Explaining the performance of existing wells by understanding the reservoir quality and lateral continuity of producing horizons
4,Determining the volume of hydrocarbons-in-place and the uncertainties associated with this value
5,Determining reservoir structure, faulting, and variations in properties in inter-well areas
6,Applying appropriate stochastic techniques for distributing petrophysical parameters including facies types, porosity, and permeability
7Working with reservoir, drilling engineer, geophysicist, and petro physicist to improve reservoir performance
8,Applying commercial software for field development plan, such as Petrel, Discovery, OpenWorks, IESX, Petrosys, GeoGraphix
